HB 05266 Summary

• Commissioner of Social Services must submit a Section 1115 Medicaid waiver application by October 2016 to provide diabetes prevention services to adults and children in households with income not exceeding 300% of the federal poverty level.

• Commissioner of Social Services must submit a proposed Medicaid state plan amendment by October 2016 to provide diabetes self-management education services to adults and children.

• Both applications must be submitted to the joint standing committees of the General Assembly with cognizance over human services and appropriations in accordance with section 17b-8 of the general statutes.

• Both sections take effect upon passage of the act.
