Amends Connecticut General Statutes section 52-557b(a) to modify liability protections for automatic external defibrillators (AEDs) in health clubs.

Health clubs licensed under section 21a-223 that provide or maintain AEDs on their premises shall not be held liable for acts or omissions involving the nonuse of the defibrillator.

Preserves existing liability protections for persons using AEDs in emergency medical situations, provided the use does not constitute gross, wilful, or wanton negligence.

Maintains definition of automatic external defibrillator as a device with internal decision-making electronics that interprets physiologic signals and guides users through operation without requiring discretion or judgment.

Takes effect immediately upon passage.
