Removes the requirement that qualified school employees voluntarily agree to administer glucagon to students with diabetes, making it a mandatory duty when assigned by school nurses and principals.

Allows school nurses and school principals to select qualified school employees (principals, teachers, licensed athletic trainers, physical or occupational therapists, coaches, or paraprofessionals) to administer glucagon injections to students with diabetes during emergencies.

Requires selected employees to complete annual training on glucagon administration and obtain written attestation from the school nurse and school medical advisor confirming training completion.

Limits glucagon administration to situations when the school nurse is absent or unavailable, and requires written authorization from the student's parent or guardian and a physician's order.

Takes effect October 1, 2016, and amends Connecticut General Statutes section 10-212a.
