Records of historical value transferred to the state archives shall be permanently retained, with title vesting in the state archives effective October 1, 2016.

Restrictions on viewing government records (other than medical records) deposited in the state archives shall be lifted 75 years after the record's creation.

Restrictions on viewing medical records deposited in the state archives shall be lifted 50 years after the death of the individual who is the subject of the record.

Defines "government record" as any recorded data owned, used, or retained by a state or local government agency that has been deemed confidential, classified, or private.

Defines "medical record" as health information created or received by healthcare providers, health plans, employers, insurers, schools, or universities relating to an individual's physical or mental health, healthcare provision, or healthcare payment.
