Commissioner of Public Health may establish a committee to examine education, examination requirements, and qualifications for licensed naturopathic practitioners to prescribe, dispense, and administer prescription drugs within their scope of practice.

Committee may develop a naturopathic formulary of prescription drugs for qualified licensed naturopathic practitioners who meet specified educational and examination requirements.

Commissioner may appoint committee members from health care professions that could be affected by changes to naturopathic prescribing authority or who can assist in establishing a naturopathic formulary.

Health care professionals and professional groups affected by potential naturopathic prescribing changes may submit written statements to the Department of Public Health by June 1, 2016, for committee consideration.

Commissioner of Public Health must report the committee's conclusions and legislative recommendations to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly with cognizance over public health matters.
