Permits board-certified anesthesiologists licensed under chapter 370 to administer minimal sedation, moderate sedation, deep sedation, or general anesthesia to dental patients under a dentist's care.

Eliminates the permit requirement for dentists to use moderate sedation, deep sedation, or general anesthesia when a board-certified anesthesiologist administers the sedation.

Dentists may still use minimal sedation without a permit and may continue to obtain permits to use higher levels of sedation independently.

Defines five levels of sedation and anesthesia (minimal sedation, moderate sedation, deep sedation, general anesthesia, and deep sedation) with specific criteria for each.

All provisions effective October 1, 2016.
