Replaces the term "revolver" with "handgun" in the private land hunting permit statute, broadening the definition to include any rifled-bore firearm intended to be fired from handheld position that holds individual cartridges in individual chambers.

Defines "handgun" for hunting purposes as including firearms with single or multiple chambers, and requires compliance with Title 29 firearm regulations if the handgun meets the definition of a pistol or revolver under state law.

Permits owners of 10 or more acres of private land or residents with landowner consent to obtain a private land handgun permit for $5 to hunt deer from November 1 to December 31 using cartridges of .357 caliber or larger.

Specifies that a firearms hunting license does not authorize carrying or possession of a handgun, pistol, or revolver except as permitted under the private land handgun permit provision.

Takes effect upon passage and amends General Statutes sections 26-82a and 26-35.
