Claims disposed of by the Claims Commissioner under section 4-158 of the general statutes between April 4, 2012 and January 1, 2017 are deemed to have been disposed of within the legally authorized timeframe, notwithstanding the two-year disposition requirement or any extension stipulations in chapter 53 of the general statutes.

Actions brought in Superior Court pursuant to Claims Commissioner authorization that are pending on the effective date of this act are deemed to be properly within the court's jurisdiction.

For claims related to actions pending in Superior Court on the effective date, the Claims Commissioner shall immediately authorize the claimant to bring suit against the state, and such actions shall be deemed properly within the court's jurisdiction upon filing.

The act takes effect immediately upon passage and applies retroactively to claims disposed of as far back as April 4, 2012.
