John Joseph Lescoe, Jr., a former Connecticut state representative, passed away on September 14, 2015, at age seventy-six.

Served in the Connecticut House of Representatives for the 49th district from 1986 to 1998, holding positions as assistant majority leader and vice chairman of the joint standing committee on finance, revenue and bonding.

Had a thirty-year career as an educator at Horace Porter Elementary School in Columbia and also served as alderman, mayor of Willimantic, and first selectman of Windham.

Notable achievements include installation of lights and playground at Recreation Park, establishment of the Windham Textile and History Museum, and the "Frog Bridge" in downtown Willimantic.

Connecticut General Assembly expresses sympathy to Lescoe's family, including his wife of fifty years Paulann, two children, and one grandson, and acknowledges his significant contributions to public service and community leadership.
