Substitute Senate Bill No. 70 (Public Act No. 16-25)

• Expands the definition of "telehealth provider" to include speech and language pathologists, respiratory care practitioners, and audiologists effective October 1, 2016

• Adds professional counselors licensed under chapter 383c to the list of licensed providers eligible to provide telehealth services

• Modifies the definition of "health care provider" in telehealth exemptions to reference chapters 376 to 376b inclusive, and adds chapters 380, 381a, 383 to 383c inclusive, 384b, 397a, and 399

• Allows telehealth providers to deliver health care and other health services within their scope of practice and according to applicable professional standards of care
