Amends nutrition standards regulations for school breakfasts and lunches to facilitate purchases from local farmers by local and regional boards of education, effective October 1, 2017.

Requires food service management companies submitting bids to local and regional boards of education to include information detailing how their proposal supports Connecticut's farm to school program and facilitates purchasing from local farmers, effective October 1, 2016.

Mandates that when awarding contracts for school nutrition programs, preference be given to proposals that facilitate purchases from local farmers, provided all other factors are equal.
