Commissioner of Social Services, in consultation with the Commissioner on Aging, shall conduct a study of nursing homes to determine if there is a sufficient number in the state and whether services meet long-term care needs.

Study must include data on nursing home population changes annually from fiscal years 2010 to 2015, state budget expenditures on nursing home care for those years, and assessment of needed programmatic or legislative changes.

Commissioner of Social Services must report study results to joint standing committees on aging and human services by July 1, 2017, and may include recommendations for addressing service gaps and improving access.

Effective date is from passage of the bill.
