Polling places for primaries shall be the same as those used for general elections, unless registrars of voters agree to reduce the number of polling places under specific conditions.

Registrars must designate reduced polling places no later than 60 days before a primary and notify the Secretary of State and candidates 45-60 days in advance.

Candidates may object to polling place changes in writing by 4:00 p.m. on the 30th day prior to the primary; if any candidate objects, polling places must remain the same as the general election.

Registrars must mail notification to electors whose primary polling place differs from their general election polling place, at least 25 days before the primary, and post signs at closed polling places directing voters to open locations.

If polling places are reduced, the number of required moderators may also be reduced, provided at least one certified moderator serves each polling place; all parties holding primaries with unaffiliated voters must use the same room.
