SB 274 Summary

• The Commissioner of Social Services shall conduct a study on the wheelchair repair approval and completion process for medical assistance recipients.

• The study must examine the average processing time for repair requests, whether replacement wheelchairs are provided during repairs, the number of complaints from recipients, and average repair and replacement costs.

• The Commissioner must report findings and recommendations to streamline the wheelchair repair process to the joint standing committee on human services by December 1, 2016.

• The act takes effect upon passage.
