Local and regional boards of education must post the Department of Children and Families Careline telephone number and website address in conspicuous locations frequented by students, effective July 1, 2016

Posted Careline information must be available in multiple languages appropriate for the school's enrolled student population

Local and regional boards of education must permit and prioritize investigations by the Commissioner of Children and Families or local law enforcement agencies regarding child abuse or neglect

Boards of education may conduct their own investigations and take disciplinary action only after receiving notice that outside investigations will not be interfered with

The Commissioner of Children and Families must establish and operate a telephone Careline to receive reports of child abuse and neglect and provide information about these issues, effective upon passage
