Violation of death or serious injury accident provisions results in fine up to $20,000 and imprisonment of 2-20 years.

Violation of physical injury or property damage accident provisions results in fine of $75-$600 and imprisonment up to 5 years for first offense; $100-$1,000 fine and up to 5 years imprisonment for subsequent offenses.

Operators involved in property-only damage on limited access highways may move vehicles to safe areas without violating reporting requirements, and violating racing/wagering prohibitions on public highways may result in vehicle impoundment or additional fines up to $2,000-$3,000.
