Expands workers' compensation coverage for police officers diagnosed with mental or emotional impairment resulting from visually witnessing the death or immediate aftermath of death caused by another person's act, provided the witnessing was causally connected to their employment.

Defines "immediate aftermath" as the scene where death occurred for a period not to exceed six hours after law enforcement secures the scene.

Excludes mental or emotional impairment coverage when the death results from a motor vehicle collision.

Adds "psychiatrist licensed pursuant to chapter 370 or psychologist licensed pursuant to chapter 383" as qualified professionals to diagnose and determine causation of the covered mental impairment.

Repeals section 31-294h of the general statutes and takes effect from passage.
