Requires courts to release persons charged with misdemeanor violations of section 21a-279 (drug possession) upon written promise to appear without bond or financial conditions, effective October 1, 2016

Directs the Court Support Services Division to maintain a listing of persons convicted of misdemeanor drug violations under section 21a-279

Automatically erases conviction records for misdemeanor drug violations if the convicted person has no other arrests during the five-year period following conviction and is not known to have used illegal drugs during that period

Requires notification to the person whose records are erased under the automatic erasure provision

Effective date of October 1, 2016 for all provisions amending sections 54-64a and 54-142a
