HB 7128 Summary

• Repeals section 10a-1d(a) and updates the Office of Higher Education's administrative authority to clarify jurisdiction over section 10a-19g and programs 10a-34 to 10a-34f as amended by this act

• Replaces all references to "Board of Regents for Higher Education" with "Connecticut State Colleges and Universities" throughout the statutes in sections relating to minority teacher recruitment, tuition review reporting, science and technology advisory matters, and minority teacher recruitment task force membership

• Modifies section 10a-34(l) to clarify filing requirements for exempt institutions, changing "annually" to "and annually thereafter" to specify institutions must file reports no later than July 1 and then annually after that date

• Updates section 10-16p(5) to change "associate's degree" to "associate degree" and extends the June 30, 2025 deadline for early childhood education program staff to obtain a childhood development associate credential or equivalent qualification

• Amends section 10-156bb to reference the updated "Connecticut State Colleges and Universities" entity in the Minority Teacher Recruitment Policy Oversight Council composition and reporting requirements
