HB 07158 - State Grant Commitments for School Building Projects

• Authorizes the Commissioner of Administrative Services to enter into state grant commitments for public school building projects based on a priority listing reviewed and approved by a General Assembly committee prior to February 1, 2017.

• Establishes state grant commitments for 42 school building projects across multiple school districts, with total estimated project costs of approximately $1.24 billion and total estimated state grants of approximately $552.4 million.

• Includes major projects such as Branford's Francis Walsh Intermediate School ($85.9 million project cost, $30.4 million grant) and New London High School-South Campus ($49.5 million project cost, $39.6 million grant).

• Reauthorizes three previously approved projects that have changed substantially in scope or cost: Fairfield Ludlowe High School (grant increase from $3.07 million to $4.11 million), Hartford West Middle School (grant maintained at $43.68 million), and New Fairfield Middle/High School (grant increase from $132,300 to $155,274).

• Takes effect upon passage and applies to school building projects reviewed under Connecticut General Statutes section 10-283.
