Repeals and replaces Section 1-2 of the general statutes effective October 1, 2017, to permit municipalities to use weekly newspapers or Internet websites for legal notices previously required in daily newspapers.

Allows towns, cities, and boroughs to post legal notices concerning procurement of goods or services, requests for proposals, and bid solicitations on their Internet websites instead of in newspapers.

Requires website postings to be placed in a conspicuous location on the municipality's official Internet website.

Does not reduce or affect the time required by law for giving notice, and maintains existing requirements that newspaper notices have substantial circulation in the relevant town.
