Establishes a task force to study the roles and responsibilities of municipal, state, and federal law enforcement agencies in ensuring public safety and examine collaborative strategies to enhance public safety.

Task force membership consists of 13 members: two each appointed by the Speaker of the House, President Pro Tempore of the Senate, and Senate Republican President Pro Tempore; one each appointed by House and Senate majority leaders, House minority leader, and deputy Senate Republican President Pro Tempore; the judiciary committee chairpersons and ranking member; and two appointed by the Governor.

All task force appointments must be made within 30 days of the effective date, with the Speaker and President Pro Tempore selecting chairpersons who shall schedule the first meeting within 60 days.

The judiciary committee's administrative staff shall provide staff support to the task force.

Task force must submit a final report and recommendations to the judiciary committee by February 1, 2018, and terminates on that date or upon report submission, whichever is later.
