Expresses sympathy and condolences on the death of State Representative Betty Boukus, who passed away on December 2, 2016, at age 73.

Boukus represented the 22nd House district for nearly 22 years, serving 11 terms beginning in 1995, representing Bristol and Plainville, later including New Britain.

Held leadership positions including Assistant Majority Leader, Deputy Majority Whip, Deputy Majority Caucus Chair, and co-chairperson of the Bonding Subcommittee.

Served on multiple committees including Appropriations, Banks, Commerce, Judiciary, Transportation, and Select Committees on Aging, Children, and Veterans' Affairs.

Previously worked as a teacher at Wheeler and Toffolon elementary schools and served on Plainville Town Council from 1989 to 1994, serving as chairperson from 1993 to 1994.
