Repeals and replaces subsection (a) of section 19a-403 regarding the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner's operation and location requirements.

Requires the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to maintain full accreditation from the National Association of Medical Examiners no later than January 1, 2018.

Updates gender-neutral language by replacing "said," "His," and "his" with "the," "The office of the Chief Medical Examiner," and "or her" respectively.

Maintains existing provisions regarding the Chief Medical Examiner's appointment by the commission, office location at a medical school, and witness fee payments of $500 per day for expert testimony in civil actions.

Takes effect from passage upon enactment.
