Expands the list of crimes that disqualify inmates from earning risk reduction credits toward sentence reduction, effective October 1, 2017.

Adds drug trafficking violations (sections 21a-277, 21a-278, 21a-278a) and sexual abuse offenses (sections 53a-71, 53a-72a, 53a-72b, 53a-73a when victim is under 16) to the ineligibility list.

Adds section 53a-191 and any violation involving use, attempted use, or threatened use of physical force against another person to crimes barring risk reduction credits.

Maintains existing ineligibility for violent felonies, persistent dangerous felony offenders, and persistent dangerous sexual offenders under section 53a-40.

Risk reduction credits remain capped at 5 days per month at the Commissioner of Correction's discretion for eligible inmates with conduct credits earned on or after April 1, 2006.
