Health carriers offering qualified health plans through the Connecticut health insurance exchange must provide weekly updated lists of in-network providers and facilities to the exchange, including provider names, addresses, phone numbers, hospital privileges, specialties, board certifications, and languages spoken.

The exchange must post provider network information on its website in a machine-readable format prescribed by the insurance board and consistent with federal Health and Human Services regulations.

Enrollees and prospective enrollees must be able to compare health care providers and facilities among qualified health plans through the exchange's website without being directed to external websites.

The exchange is required to maintain provider listings that include facility names, addresses, phone numbers, and any other information the insurance board requires.

Both sections take effect October 1, 2017, with Section 1 creating new requirements and Section 2 amending the existing exchange duties under Connecticut General Statutes Section 38a-1084.
