Health carriers must post current and accurate participating provider directories on their websites, updated at least monthly, accessible without requiring account login or policy numbers.

Electronic directories must include searchable information for health care providers, hospitals, and facilities, including names, locations, specialties, languages spoken, board certification, and facility affiliations.

Health carriers must disclose whether health care providers are accepting new patients and, if accepting new patients, whether they are accepting new patients on an outpatient services basis.

Upon request, health carriers must provide print copies of directories with a statement that information is accurate as of the printing date and that consumers should consult the electronic directory for updates.

Health carriers must conduct periodic audits of at least a reasonable sample size of participating provider directories for accuracy and maintain documentation available to the commissioner upon request.
