Commissioner of Social Services, in consultation with the Commissioner on Aging, shall conduct a study to determine if there is a sufficient number of nursing homes in the state and whether services meet long-term care needs.

Study must include data on nursing home population changes annually for fiscal years 2011-2016, state budget expenditures on nursing home care during those years, and whether programmatic or legislative changes are needed.

Commissioner of Social Services must report findings to the joint standing committees on aging and human services by July 1, 2018, and may include recommendations for addressing service gaps and improving access.

Effective from passage of the act.
