Connecticut Board of Examiners of Embalmers and Funeral Directors prohibited from taking disciplinary action against licensed embalmers or funeral directors for actions during licensing examinations that were approved by the Department of Public Health, effective October 1, 2017.

Disciplinary action protection applies only if the licensee graduated from an institution accredited by the American Board of Funeral Service Education and received a passing grade on the examination.

Examination services provider must not have invalidated the passing grade on or before six months after the date the licensee took the examination.

Protection applies notwithstanding existing provisions of Connecticut General Statutes section 20-227 regarding disciplinary actions by the board.
