Commissioner of Energy and Environmental Protection must submit a report to the joint standing committee on the environment by February 1, 2018 identifying viable commercial uses for recycled glass in the state.

Report must evaluate potential uses for recycled glass including construction materials, landscape and playscape cover, fiber optic cables, fiberglass, pipe bedding, and filtration systems.

Commissioner shall recommend necessary changes to glass collection methods and procedures to establish best practices that support and facilitate commercial uses for recycled glass.

Commissioner must determine the viability of establishing a minimum recycled content requirement for glass containers sold in the state and make legislative recommendations accordingly.
