Acknowledges Taiwan as the ninth largest trading partner of the United States with $66.6 billion in bilateral trade in 2015

Supports closer economic and trade partnerships between the United States and Taiwan, including potential Bilateral Investment Agreement (BIA) and Free Trade Agreement (FTA)

Directs the clerks of the Senate and House to send a copy of the resolution to President Tsai Ing-wen through the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in New York
