Permits telehealth providers to prescribe controlled substances used in medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for substance use disorders, which was previously prohibited under telehealth regulations.

Adds definition of "medication-assisted treatment" as the use of FDA-approved medications combined with counseling and behavioral therapies for treating substance use disorders.

Adds definition of "facility fee" and renumbers existing telehealth-related definitions in section 19a-906 of the general statutes.

Requires telehealth providers to maintain access to patient medical history and health records, obtain informed consent, and conform to applicable standards of care when providing telehealth services.

Effective July 1, 2018.
