• The Office of Policy and Management administers a grant program reimbursing municipalities for purchasing body-worn recording equipment, electronic defense weapon recording equipment, dashboard cameras with remote recorders, and digital data storage devices or services for police departments.

• Municipalities making first-time purchases of dashboard cameras with remote recorders or replacing dashboard cameras purchased before December 31, 2010, are eligible for reimbursement.

• Municipalities purchasing equipment during fiscal years ending June 30, 2017, and June 30, 2018, receive reimbursement for up to 100 percent of costs; digital data storage services are reimbursed for no longer than one year.

• Municipalities purchasing equipment during fiscal year ending June 30, 2019, that were not previously reimbursed receive reimbursement for up to 50 percent of costs.

• "Dashboard camera with a remote recorder" is defined as a camera affixed to a police vehicle's dashboard or windshield that records video and has an electronic audio recorder capable of remote operation.
