Department of Social Services must collect and maintain data on transportation needs of Medicaid recipients for nonemergency medical appointments.

Data collection must include the number and location of Medicaid recipients needing transportation, recipients with medical conditions requiring regular multiple provider visits, and those requiring special vehicles, medical equipment, or escorts.

Contractors hired by the department to provide nonemergency medical transportation must collect and share the same transportation data with the department.

Commissioner of Social Services must provide collected data to the Council on Medical Assistance Program Oversight or the joint standing committee on human services upon request of the respective chairpersons.

Effective from passage.
