Requires physicians to complete at least one contact hour of continuing medical education on screening for gastrointestinal cancers (colon, gastric, pancreatic, neuroendocrine, and other rare gastrointestinal tumors) during their first renewal period and not less than once every six years thereafter, effective October 1, 2018.

Removes outdated language restricting a controlled substances and pain management education requirement to registration periods beginning on or after October 1, 2015.

Maintains existing requirement that physicians earn a minimum of 50 contact hours of continuing medical education within a 24-month period for license renewal.

Allows qualifying continuing medical education to be offered by the American Medical Association, American Osteopathic Association, Connecticut Hospital Association, medical societies, hospitals, health care institutions, regionally accredited academic institutions, or state/local health departments.
