Secretary of the Office of Policy and Management shall review current state funding mechanisms provided to municipalities, effective upon passage.

Review shall evaluate the equitability of funding formulas and the appropriate timing for state notification and distribution of municipal funding during each fiscal year.

Secretary shall submit results of the review, including recommendations for revisions and necessary legislation, to joint standing committees on appropriations and local government budgets on or before October 1, 2018.

Purpose of the act is to equitably provide state funding to municipalities.
