Department of Education shall conduct a feasibility study on the use and expansion of virtual learning and distance learning within available appropriations.

Study must examine existing virtual learning centers and distance learning opportunities, including courses and programs offered and alignment with State Board of Education curriculum guidelines.

Study must assess how many school districts currently implement virtual or distance learning and identify district capabilities and limitations for implementation.

Department of Education shall submit findings and recommendations to the joint standing committee on education by January 1, 2019.
