Requires municipalities containing institutions of higher education to establish separate voting districts for those institutions during state elections.

Polling place eligibility applies to institutions with over 3,000 full-time equivalent enrollment reported to the U.S. Department of Education in the prior year.

Institutions must notify municipal registrars of voters by January 1st of the election year to trigger the polling place requirement.

Registrars must provide a suitable polling place at or within 500 feet of the eligible institution; if registrars disagree on location, the municipal legislative body determines it.

Effective upon passage and amends Connecticut General Statutes Section 9-169.
