Commissioner of Social Services shall conduct a study of nursing homes to determine if there is a sufficient number of facilities in the state and if services meet the need for long-term care.

Study shall analyze nursing home population changes annually from fiscal years 2012 to 2017, state budget expenditures on nursing home care during that period, and identify any needed programmatic or legislative changes.

Commissioner must report findings to the joint standing committees on aging and human services by July 1, 2019, and may include recommendations for addressing service gaps and improving access.

Effective from passage.
