HB 5481 - Changes to the State Personnel Act

• Reduces advance notice requirement for classified service position examinations from two weeks to six business days, effective October 1, 2018
• Removes requirement to post examination notices on Department of Administrative Services bulletin board, keeping only Internet website posting and state employment service notification
• Shortens application rejection appeal deadline from twelve days to six business days after transmittal of rejection notice
• Allows rejected applicants or employees to request review by an independent human resource professional, who must render final decision within fifteen days
• Eliminates language regarding reemployment of former retired state employees from resignation regulations
