Repeals sections 10-394, 10-397, 10-397a, and 10-397b of the general statutes, which established and governed regional tourism districts, effective July 1, 2018.

Removes all references to "tourism district" from statutes governing audited agencies, municipal health insurance eligibility, pension systems, and tax information disclosure.

Transfers tourism promotion responsibilities to the Department of Economic and Community Development, which shall develop marketing plans, strategic initiatives, and challenge grant programs for tourism development statewide.

Eliminates the requirement for uniform financial reporting systems specific to regional tourism districts and removes regional tourism district representatives from the Culture and Tourism Advisory Committee appointments.

Encourages cooperation among members of the state's tourism industry generally rather than through formally established regional tourism districts.
