Amends the definition of sex trafficking to expand the phrase "for a fee" to "in exchange for anything of value," broadening what constitutes compensation in trafficking cases.

Adds the requirement that a person must "knowingly" compel or induce another person to engage in sexual conduct involving a third party through force, threat of force, fraud, or coercion.

Maintains that compelling a person under 18 years of age to engage in sexual conduct that constitutes a criminal offense does not require proof of force, fraud, or coercion.

Classifies trafficking in persons as a Class A felony.

Takes effect July 1, 2018, and amends General Statutes Section 53a-192a.
