Senate Bill No. 429 - Passport to the Parks

• Establishes a separate, nonlapsing Passport to the Parks account within the General Fund to support state parks, campgrounds, soil and water conservation districts, and environmental review teams

• Removes the requirement that moneys in the account be expended only pursuant to General Assembly appropriation, allowing more flexible spending authority

• Directs all funds collected from the Passport to the Parks Fee to be deposited into this dedicated account

• Permits the account to receive funding from private and public sources, including municipal governments and federal funds

• Routes all receipts from state park operations into the Passport to the Parks account for department spending on park operations, maintenance, and improvements (effective October 1, 2018)
