Commissioner of Transportation must review research on how marijuana use impairs drivers and identify the extent of motor vehicle accidents involving marijuana impairment in Connecticut, including any trends over time.

Commissioner shall examine policies and laws in other states regarding marijuana-impaired driving and impairment detection methods.

Commissioner must examine and assess the accuracy of methods and devices that may be used to detect marijuana-impaired driving and make recommendations to law enforcement.

Commissioner shall make recommendations for training requirements for law enforcement officers on marijuana impairment detection.

Commissioner must submit report to joint standing committees on public safety and transportation by February 1, 2021, including all findings and recommendations; study involves consultation with Commissioners of Emergency Services and Public Protection, Motor Vehicles, and University of Connecticut.
