Amends Connecticut General Statutes section 54-142a to provide for automatic sealing of criminal records for misdemeanor offenses and certain felony offenses seven years after final judgment of conviction.

Sealed records become accessible only to law enforcement agencies and are no longer available to the general public.

Eliminates the need for individuals to petition for record sealing for eligible offenses, making the process automatic after the seven-year period.

Referred to the Committee on Housing during the January 2019 legislative session.
