Amends sections 38a-510 and 38a-544 of the Connecticut general statutes to prohibit health insurers from requiring step therapy for cancer treatment drugs.

Applies to insurance companies, hospital service corporations, medical service corporations, health care centers, and other entities that deliver or issue health insurance policies with prescription drug coverage in Connecticut.

Exempts cancer drugs from step therapy requirements only if the drug is prescribed for cancer treatment and approved by the federal Food and Drug Administration for that indication.

Does not prevent health carriers from using step therapy for non-cancer prescription drugs or cancer drugs prescribed outside FDA-approved indications.
