Direct-to-consumer genetic testing companies are prohibited from sharing personally identifiable genetic data or information with health carriers or life insurance companies without the person's consent, effective October 1, 2019.

Violations of the genetic data sharing restriction are subject to civil penalties of not more than $1,000 per violation.

Naturopathy practice is redefined to include physical sciences of healing (articular manipulation, physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, electrotherapy, phototherapy) and natural sciences (nutrition, dietetics, phytotherapy, natural substances), with authority to order diagnostic tests and medical devices.

Naturopathic physicians may perform venipuncture for blood testing and are permitted to remove ear wax, conduct spirometry, and perform tuberculosis testing.

The Department of Public Health, in consultation with the State Board of Naturopathic Examiners, may establish requirements allowing naturopathic physicians to prescribe and dispense non-opioid prescription medicines, and must update the naturopathic formulary at least every three years.
