Municipal employees may serve on governmental bodies in their town of residence, except bodies with direct supervision responsibility over them, effective October 1, 2019.

Municipal employees are prohibited from serving on boards of finance, zoning bodies, land use bodies, planning bodies, and inland wetlands and watercourses regulatory bodies unless permitted by municipal charter or home rule ordinance.

Municipalities may authorize municipal employees to serve on zoning, land use, planning, and inland wetlands bodies by adopting an ordinance through their legislative body.

Amends Connecticut General Statutes section 7-421(e) regarding municipal employee service restrictions on legislative and governmental bodies.
