Department of Education shall develop and promulgate a standardized form for identifying military-connected students seeking to enroll in Connecticut public schools, effective October 1, 2019.

Military-connected student is defined as any person under 21 years old whose parent or legal guardian is a current, retired, or separated armed forces member, or a veteran.

Form shall include the definition of military-connected student, a check box for identification, and notice that completion is voluntary and not required for enrollment.

Public schools that enroll military-connected students shall connect or offer to connect the student's family with existing resources available from the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Military Department.
