HB 6927 - Task Force on State Contract Debarment

• Establishes a task force to study Connecticut's debarment procedures and compare them with other states and Title 31 of the Connecticut General Statutes.

• Task force comprises 11 members including representatives from the Connecticut State Building Trades Council, state worker unions, public works compliance organizations, Connecticut Legal Services, contractors, and state commissioners from Labor, Administrative Services, Transportation, and the Attorney General's office, plus the University of Connecticut president.

• All task force appointments must be made within 30 days of the bill's effective date, with the first meeting scheduled within 60 days.

• Task force must submit a report with findings and recommendations to the joint standing committee on labor no later than February 1, 2020.

• Task force terminates upon submission of its report or February 1, 2020, whichever is later.
